Thad Chambers
President | New Business Development | Project Management & Superintendent | Sales
Thad founded Chambers Design Build in 2012, applying management, design, and sales experience acquired since 1983 to create a business model focused on transparency and attention to detail. He leans on experience working with engineers and architects with various building materials such as steel framing, SIPs, and ICF construction and can help you explore any of these options for your build.
Thad values early brainstorm sessions spent developing the general design and style of each project. Once these sessions are complete, he provides clients with the first look at their home in a 3D format. Beginning with concept sketches through complete site development and home completion are his passion projects, and Thad loves the satisfaction of working with a client to see their new home dreams come to fruition. He and the whole Chambers Design Build team look forward to the day you are handed your keys and get to live in your dream space.
Jon Sonnenberg
Chief Estimator | Job Site Management & Superintendent
Jon has been with Chambers Design Build since 2018. He has worked in commercial construction, restoration, remodel, and custom home building since 2007. With this experience and as a former soccer coach, Jon communicates effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, so he will articulate the building process to all involved to ensure your desires are realized.
Jon enjoys getting to experience the diversity of projects and clients that Chambers Design Build has had the pleasure to work with. He appreciates that no two builds are the same, and there is much to learn from project to project. The time he has spent working with our clients has demonstrated that each custom space offers an opportunity to apply a new design concept or build process to future homes. He understands the importance of understanding where each dollar goes in each project and knows that Chambers Design Build’s open-book approach allows our clients to maintain peace of mind throughout the build process.
In each project, Jon’s goal is to help his clients create their dream and hand them the keys to their forever home.
John Blackwell
Job Site Superintendent
John has been with Chambers Design Build since 2017, specializing in leading projects and helping clients achieve their custom home dreams. With more than a decade of experience in Kerrville’s residential construction market (and additional experience with industrial construction in offshore oil), John is uniquely suited to help you build your perfect home in the Texas Hill Country. He is passionate about both the construction involved in a project as well as bringing projects from “dirt to key” and seeing plans and bare dirt become a home. John believes that the beauty of custom homes is seeing and valuing how each home differs and how each client approaches their build.
John contributes expertise in electrical, plumbing, and heavy equipment use and can offer insight to help you best understand the unique needs and requirements your home may have. His hands-on approach ensures that you will be able to rest easy knowing that every step of the process, from concept to key-in-hand, will be handled with utmost care and professionalism.
Jennifer Gray
Office Manager | Accounts Payable | Accounts Receivable
Jennifer has been with Chambers Design Build since January of 2018. Before joining Chambers Design Build, Jennifer served 20 years in the Navy and 2 years owning a clothing business.
Designing and building your dream home is a process Jennifer enjoys being involved in from the ground up. She believes that each custom home allows inspiration and ideas to become reality and offers an opportunity for clients to move to the beautiful Texas Hill Country and start the next chapter of their lives. “We love creating the perfect space to meet each client’s unique needs and vision” and ensuring that the finishing touches of each project showcase the unique style of each client. She appreciates having the opportunity to give input to these final designs and believes Chambers Design Build is uniquely suited to provide the time and attention that each client and project deserves.
